ABOUT BRiQ

In Taiwan, we use "Q" to describe the texture of a food similar to "Al Dente" or "tenderly chewy".
Therefore BRiQ stands for "Pretty-Q". The sentence pronounces as "Bu-Li-Ah-Cue" in Chinese. 
Which presents this marshmallow biscuit invented in Taiwan tastes "pretty Q".

Our story came from the year 2018. One day an old lady came to our little pancake house just opened months before.
And I'm still trying the recipe to create this type of marshmallow biscuit. So I asked her to help me to try it out and offer suggestions if she like.
After she ate the biscuit. What she said to me is "Young man, this stuff you made, is pretty crispy and pretty Q"

At that moment I felt like discovered a treasure. Because while I'm trying out the best recipe, I'm also looking into a brand name the really meets the marshmallow biscuit.
That is when I decide to use BRIQ to branding the product line. And always make the flavor and texture the core guide line to new item developments.

People in the US described the nation as a "Salad Bowl" to tell that the mixture of people from different origins formed it peacefully.

We think that the marshmallow biscuit - BRiQ, which was invented in Taiwan. Can also use to tell the people here are all emerged here open-minded.
Just like the make of each BRiQ, with tender heat to soften the marshmallow so it can be well mixed with the ingredients to create signature flavor.
And then to integrate with more material. So the texture and layer can be created altogether.

This process I think, is a perfect match to the story of Taiwan.
Thus we wish, that BRiQ can be one of the most iconic souvenirs of Taiwan.

不哩阿Q by  -南加州實業社-

某日一位來自北部,十分親切的婆婆到小店吃鬆餅。
店內剛好沒有其他客人,小廚便與她閒聊並招待她試吃手作雪Q餅。
婆婆咬了一口大約半片大小的同時,便詢問小廚這個小點心的名字。
這個一般叫做〔雪Q餅〕或〔雪花餅〕,我答道。
婆婆一邊咀嚼著小廚手作的餅,透露出滿意的表情,
嘴角的動作似乎想要說些甚麼,但因為還在吃,所以只能耐心等待。

待婆婆將那一口吞下,直脫口說了:少年仔,你做這個脆脆香香,擱不哩阿Q吶

當下小廚有如醍醐灌頂,因為總覺得缺乏一個夠響亮又有味道的品牌名稱。
由此刻開始,我們便以「不哩阿Q」為名,行銷此系列商品,並著手申請商標。
同時將
口感、口味列為開發新品項的最高指導原則!
至於外觀或許因為手作或許比較不那麼完美,價格或許因為原物料與人工因素比許多市售品牌高。

品牌精神

美國人以Salad Bowl -沙拉碗形容來自各地不同文化背景的人,在美國當地和平融洽地生活在一起。

我們認為,雪Q餅這個在台灣研發出來的創新點心餅,事實上也能夠用來形容台灣人們對於不同文化的高度包容。
在每一份不哩阿Q的製造過程中,我們須以文火柔軟身段,藉以與各種不同元素相互結合,迸發出獨特的口味;
爾後再與更多的材料相互包容、整合,創造出多元的風味、口感與層次。

這個過程,用來形容台灣的歷史文化背景極為適洽;
